A Working Definition:
Makes fun of a situation, as opposed to a specific thing. It is an original and not based off of anything in specific.
- The comedic exaggeration of a situation that isn’t or wouldn’t be real.
Four Different Examples
1. Seinfeld (TV Show)
2. Anchorman (Movie)
In the movie Anchorman, there is a lot exaggerated comedy because the men are constantly doing thing without thinking about their actions. It is definitely intended to make the audience laugh at the foolish actions being done.
3. Any Adam Sandler Movie Ever (Movie) A lot of Slapstick/over exaggerated acting
